I was fortunate to work on cave environment for the IX and Ancient Evil intro cinematics as an Environment Artist.
I worked on this map with a fantastic team of other artists and designers, without whom none of this would have been possible.

My primary responsibility on this map was to build a stage around a set of already setup blockout animations. These animations and the environment were refined in tandem from the blockout stage.
Working in this scene provided a fun challenge because after the block out for the environment was created, I made adjustments and completed the set decoration based on the shots in the sequence. This is a different way of working when contrasted with typical map detailing for a game where a space needs to hold up from all viewing angles.
The rock formations were generated via photogrammetry data, processed and converted to a game res kit of assets and assembled in the scene by myself. The temple and pedestal was sculpted in Zbrush for this scene. The columns were created with existing content.
